Pick Variety

Mein Vater nutzte jahrelang ein- und denselben Zahnstocher. Das gute Stück schlummerte in seiner Jackentasche. Frische Ware verschmähte er. Bestechungsversuche liefen ins Leere. 
Ein Exot musste her.
Ich begann, Zahnstocher aus aller Welt zu sammeln. Pick Variety ist das Zeugnis dieses Sammelns
(und des gescheiterten Versuchs, meinen Vater vom Austausch zu überzeugen und/oder ihm einen Exoten unterzujubeln).

My father used the same toothpick for years. The trusty little piece slumbered in his jacket pocket. 
He turned his nose up at fresh supplies. All attempts at bribery were in vain.
An exotic specimen was needed.
So I began collecting toothpicks from around the world. Pick Variety is the testimony of this collection (and of my failed attempt to convince my father to make a swap and/or to secretly replace his with an exotic one).
