Im Herzen Berlins befindet sich das Holocaust-Mahnmal. Das Denkmal erinnert an die rund sechs Millionen Juden, die unter der Herrschaft der Nationalsozialisten ermordet wurden.
2711 unterschiedlich hohe Stelen laden ein, sich in diesem labyrinthartigen Ort des Gedenkens zu verlieren. Das Stelefenld ist Tag und Nacht frei zugänglich und wird von Menschen aus
aller Welt besucht. Ein Jahr lang bin ich mit meiner Kamera den Besuchern durch die schmalen Gänge "gefolgt". Das Schöne an diesem Mahnmal: Es ist ein Ort des Trauerns und gleichzeitig ein Ort der Begegnung.

2,711 stelae of varying heights invite visitors to lose themselves in this labyrinthine place of remembrance. The Field of Stelae is open to the public day and night and is visited by people from all over the world. For about a year, I followed the visitors through the narrow passages with my camera. What’s beautiful about this memorial is that it is both a place of mourning and a place of encounter.
